Seller cleared check engine codes, took pictures and sold it as good condition. Car requires $7,800 in engine repairs and dealer has not produced a title in almost 90 days. Dealership refuses to answer the phone or answer emails. Crooks!

Bad inspection sticker

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
bought a car from them. day i bought it i called and told them the car was shaking and i suspected it was the engine mounts. they had just inspected it the day before and assured me that wasnt the problem and all the mounts that needed replaced were. 4 visits later and hours of my time wasted and lied to by the sales man Albert, and the problem was........you guessed it, bad engine mounts. I stopped dealing with albert because he was just a flat out liar. so a nice lady was helping me and it took 4 months and 4 visits to finally correct the problem i was assured after the first visit was fixed. due to driving the vehicle like this it started to leak oil from the valve cover gasket. they said they wont fix this my warranty is expired. after they made me wait 2 months between visits 3 and 4. they made my warranty expire so they could wash their hands clean. the owner has never once reached out to me over the past 4 months. mind you this is a small car lot. just stay away at all costs.

If it was a bad inspection sticker, you have recourse with the Pennsylvania State Police. I had a similar problem with another dealer and once Pa should up on their door step the problem was solved immediately

Excellent Sales Service

5 Stars in customer service and overall buying process. We purchased a used 2006 Volvo S60 sedan. Excellent service in sales. I basically bought the car online. Ms. Rachael was up front and detailed about the car I was looking at. She explained everything about the car and was charismatic about the sale. When I arrived, the car was in the exact condition as she detailed on the phone and eBay. We drove four hundred fifty miles from Palisades Park, New Jersey to pick up the car as we trusted her opinions. Do we recommend Pennant Motors? Yes we do.

Car Condition Review

We purchased a car from them on EBay and drove 8.5 hours to go pick it up. Once we arrived to pick it up it was clear that we were lied to about the condition of the vehicle. An email was sent to the manager requesting compensation for our drive there and back, a total of 17 hours and no response was given. I am out almost $450 because of their lack of disclosure with this sale.

Lack of any professionalism

while i have very few complaints of the car, the staff at this dealer has absolutely no professionalism. anything that comes out of their mouth is a lie, it has been almost two months and i still have no title run away from this place and find a reputable place to purchase a car. IF you can actually get them to call you back, they will give you some line of *** that they have done their job and it is out of their hands. If they act as your notary and they will, then they are responsible and their legal troubles with me are just beginning

Lied About Vehicles Condition

I bought a 2002 Volvo S60 from these guys at the end of February with the notion that the car was in 'perfect mechanical condition'. They neglected to tell me that the car was basically a death trap I had to drive it all the way back to Connecticut (462 Miles) with a broken fuel pump, broken engine mount, and a shot transmission. The gears stuck all the way on the ride home, the car reeked of gasoline, and all sorts of noises emitted from the vehicle. I have dished out over $1500 dollars trying to make the car at least safe to drive. Pennant Motors has ignored our complaints, and refuse to pay or take responsibility for anything. STAY AWAY

Car dealer scam artist

I purchased a 2000 Volvo V70XC from a dealer in Erie, PA-Pennant Motors on ebay. I arrived and inspected the vehicle-which was clean and in the expected condition. Shortly after purchasing it (2 weeks) was on wet grass and though the vehicle was spinning a lot for an AWD. 2 weeks later (30 days after purchase), it was confirmed the AWD didn't work-FWD only. Owner Mike would not stand behind representing the FWD only car as AWD-and he says he is a "Volvo specialist" He refused to do ANYTHING. Repair cost is $3500-same as purchase price! SCAM ARTIST! STAY AWAY!

few years back I tried to buy a 2000 cross country from him. the initial low speed drive around the area was ok.

I did figure it was missing the drive shaft, because it happened to me previously. but originally didn't bother me because I had a drive shaft for it. but then I took it up on the highway in it shook and rattled when you went past 50. he got angry and told me to take her leave it at a certain price, or you just dump it on eBay.

funny thing I started watching eBay, and saw somebody bought the car and found out the drive shaft was missing and was complaining.

of course his response he had no idea. I email the buyer and told him he knew the drive shaft was missing, and he had a fork over 600 bucks to rectify it.lol I really like some of the cars he had but I won't go near the place because he's so dishonest.

Pennant Motors

Purchased a V70XC on ebay from Pennant Motors in Erie, PA. They specialize in Volvo, Mercedes, VW, Saab. In picking up the car, the owner came out to say hello, although passing in and out several times (we were the only customers). His assistant went on for a long time about their Volvo expertise. We left with the car. 2 weeks later-I thought the car was spiing excessively on wet grass-2 weeks after that-in snow-I confirmed the rear wheels were not driving. I contacted the dealer and said the car was mis-represented as AWD-since the rear drive was inoperative. He promised to contact the dealer auction he bought it from. When I followed up a week later he said "defects arent unusual for a car with higher mileage" and ceased corresponance. Since I have found additional similar stories on this scam artist.
